According to the custom, everyone should stay up all night on New Year's Eve and wait for the New Year to arrive. After Midnight, as bringing the New Year, we congratulated to each other and gave red envelopes to grandmom and parents (we are not kids to receive red envelopes from the elders anymore... ).
It was late but we were still very excited to celebrate the New Year. So someone suggest us to visit a temple. It seems an auspice of luck to visit a temple in the very beginning of a year. Although I've celebrated the new year for such many years, I'd never visited a temple to pray for good luck in the coming year. Actually, I even don't know how to do it. When we arrive the Taipei Xingtian Temple, we were surprised at the crowd all over and around the temple. Uh.... That's the atmosphere of the New Year!!
After a prayer, we all got a peace charm with the god's blessings.
